Everyday Things…
So I’m in my new place, moving stuff around so that the cable guy* (Ernie Douglas, friends call him Chip) can actually see the spot where I want the cable connection in the wall. I’m opening up boxes, putting stuff where I think it belongs.
I open my food box, toss my soup cans in the pantry and my Juicy Juice in the fridge. And I’m checking the temperature controls in the fridge and they’re more retarded than drooling chimp.
2 controls knobs. First knob goes from A -> E, second knob goes from 0 -> 9.
Heres what the directions say:
- Normal Settings: C and 5
- Colder Fresh Food: C and 6-7
- Coldest Fresh Food: B and 8-9
- Colder Freezer: D and 7-8
- Warmer Fresh Food: C and 4-1
- Off: 0
Set BOTH controls.
Allow 24 hours to stabilize.
Extreme Design of Everyday Things flashback.
*I gotta wait on Wednesday for him from 4pm - 8pm, what the hell? 4 freakin’ hours. I hate him already.

Count yourself lucky having a fridge with base-15 temperature controls. It probably seemed reasonable when they developed it.
I guess…it’s no base-69.
