Ignorance Vent

I was initially going to title this post I Hate Ignorant White America. I pondered on it for a slight, decided to title it I Hate Ignorant America. Some more pondering…I Hate Ignorance.

Ignorance encompasses many subjects, tonight my dislike goes toward the subject of ignorance due to the boundaries currently in our neural pathways, our brain. Cultural, Social, Political, what have you.

Ever wonder why people get so religous about sports? Soccer hooligans, fires, car flippings, etc etc. I mean, ever really wonder why a sport can cause so much hatred for an unknown part of the planet? Just one tiny example that touches on what I’m thinking about right now.

Just to let you know, this post isn’t going to go into details or specifics about what is currently racing through me, generalities suffice.

It is truly sad that knowledge does not breed wisdom, and to a lesser regard, vice versa. Especially in today’s world where in the East knowledge is held to the highest regard, while in the West it is an almost literal polar opposite, atheletic prowess is considered the dream. Vent.

I despise invisible boundaries, the ones that don’t exist on a map, non-political boundaries if you will.

The greatest enemy of knowledge is not ignorance, it is the illusion of knowledge.
– Stephen Hawking

I guess it isn’t ignorance I hate after all, it’s illusions. Our own created illusions are killing us though, they are lessening, but right now that is not comforting me.

I think I’m done pseudo-intellectual venting, this post is going nowhere.

Signing off,
TB
