The Next ISBN Is…
I finished reading The Onion Girl last night. Near the end it had a little bit more a fictional taste, which I liked, but overall I still stand by my previous statements.
I don’t know what I’ll start reading next. It will either be another Sherlock Holmes story by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (I bought the whole collection a while back and have been slowly going through it) or Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell by Susanna Clarke. This one was recommended to me by Deeds, for her sake I hope shes right about it. Well Deeds, I’m recommending The Onion Girl to you now. And to Brooke as well (Peter, let her know will you). Why? Because both of them enjoyed Memoirs of a Geisha. Now that book started out slow but got much better about a third of the way through.
I’m feeling pretty tired today, last two nights I stayed up too late reading even though I had work. Not a smart idea, but I refuse to read for less than 45 minutes at a time once I sit down and actually start reading. I’m not talking magazines or short stories and such, but actual reading time kind of stuff. I made a compromise in Boston, since I travelled on the T a lot, but no longer.
Still not sure what to read. I’ve got a signed copy of If Chins Could Kill: Confessions of a B Movie Actor that I should go through as well…

Okay, Onion Girl will make it on my to-read list. You might like The Good Earth too. It’s an easy read, and just like Memoirs of a Geisha, it actually takes you to that place. It’s in China though, so it might not be as interesting to you as Japan in Geisha. But put it on the list and start reading Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norell already! It’s good! If you don’t believe me, Neil Gaiman happens to think so too.
