Not-Really-The-Best-Buy-IV
So I just got off the phone with a really nice guy at Best Buy Warranty. It turns out that Best Buy has denied my request to replace my brand new TV at the repair shop with another one because the original damage (caused by Best Buy Delivery themselves) is not considered to be damage that is covered by the Best Buy No Lemon Department.
Oh yeah, the whole “if it isn’t repaired within 45 business days, Best Buy will replace it” thing I got from one of the phone guys at Best Buy Warranty? That isn’t true, I asked about that today, the guy said that isn’t mentioned anywhere in my plan.
The part at the repair shop is on order, the second part, since the first one happened to come in damaged. Keep in mind the damaged part took 2 months to arrive, who knows how long this one will take. I still think they’re using my TV for Sunday football games at the owner’s house, why else would it be taking so long? Incompetence only goes so far.
Guess I’m stuck waiting X number of months for a new TV I bought 3+ months ago which I used for a few weeks. Not to mention paying $358 to repair it. I’m really glad I got the Best Buy service plan on the TV…it’s really really helping me out, no really.
I also called Best Buy Insurance right after I found this out from Best Buy Warranty. Apparently Best Buy Delivery handles their own claims and they denied my claim since I couldn’t prove the damage was done by them. So My Word vs. Their Word. I need Judge Judy.
I was thinking of getting American Express to stop payment on my TV purchase, but that only affects the Best Buy store, not the Best Buy Warranty, Best Buy Delivery or the TV repair shop, who are the ones really giving it to me.
Anybody know of a good lawyer? or of any kind of repair laws in Virginia that can help me? I don’t know what else to do except to wait and pay up the money.

Have you tried contacting the Better Business Bureau?
I’ve also been told to contact the local consumer affairs office. I’ll be doing some contacting soon I guess.
