Today’s Lesson: Molecular Cell Biology

I had my first graduate course outside of Computer Science tonight, it’s Molecular Cell Biology in Bioinformatics. It sounds pretty cool and geeky and makes me look smart when I mention the name…as long I don’t mention my grade I guess. I wonder if the name can pick up chicks. Anyway…

The class is Thursday nights, 7:20PM-10:00PM. What a rip, huh?

It went pretty well, I’m glad I’m taking it, I’ve always loved Biology (it just hasn’t loved me back in the academic department). Today was just introduction and overview, but I was totally engrossed in what the professor was talking about, thats good, considering how late the class is and I have trouble staying awake in 2+ hour courses now (stupid 9-5 job has ruined my sleep schedule of staying up late at night). I hope he doesn’t delve too much into Chemistry, I hate that cheese, it’s no gouda.

I need about ~85 more hours of work before the class payment due date, if I can reach 500 hours, then I get 4 free credits to take in any course per semester. I think I could do it.

I’m actually looking forward to next week’s class too, pretty excited. Mixing Computer Science and Biology, my favorite sciences (well, I shouldn’t say that, I love Astronomy, Physics, Anthropology, Archeology, Paleontology…screw it, everything but Chemistry. Wow, it’s too bad I’m no Alfred Einstein).
