Illiteracy

I haven’t picked up a book in a while, other than my class text book. Thats why I hate school sometimes, takes away from good reading. After I’m done with the school junk, I just don’t feel like picking up another book to read for fun, just want something mind-numbing that doesn’t require any imagination or effort…TV & Video Games.

On the bright side, I did buy Ender’s Game and The Adventures of Kavalier & Clay, can’t wait to start em…once I get them in from Amazon.

I’m spoiled, hardcover only for me, one of the reasons I don’t like buying from a real store, but I do enjoy very much going there and perusing, very much so. The brick & mortar stores just don’t have hardcovers for non-new/non-bestsellers, shame really, but paperbacks take up less shelf space and are cheaper, so I can’t really blame them.

Make sure you read The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay first! I hardly ever read at home too. The TV is just too tempting. I’ve actually started looking forward to commuting just so I can read. :) The book I’m reading now is pretty funny too. Very informative. It’s ‘The man who ate everything’ by Jeffrey Steingarten. I even found out that raw spinach actually prevents your body from absorbing calcium and iron not only from the spinach but also from other sources!
