My Shitty Wrath

Category: GeneralTB @ 8:35 pm

I just confronted my roommate, lets call him SC.

To start, I just want to state, that if you know me, you KNOW I’m a lazy lazy man, I abhor doing groceries, so I like to stock up once every couple months and this isn’t about the money either. Knowing this…

I’m not a confrontational guy, I’m actually a pretty big pushover, very relaxed and lenient and considerate of others in a living situation (a bit too considerate, making me a pu**y usually). In my last roommate situation we had a guy who would always eat our food. I mean, sharing food is fine by me, hell, I’m all for it, but this guy would literally eat all of our junk food at 4am. After a while we had to talk with him…didn’t really help, but at least I wasn’t alone.

Well this time, I’m the only one (of us 3) that keeps my cabinet full of food, the other guy just has cereal and ravioli and small things here and there (his work pays for most of his meals), but he does groceries every now and then and buys things for the apartment as well (paper towels, etc) and we share milk usually, he always lets me know if he grabbed something of mine to eat, even after the fact, that’s cool with me, don’t care. SC literally only has a Gatorade and is the messiest person I have ever met. I literally have to close the door to his room because I can’t stand the smell in the hall. Worst part? I share a bathroom with him…I don’t think he’s a hand washer. How can I tell? He pisses with the bathroom door open. I’ll talk with him about that another day, once today passes.

So SC is messy as shit, fine, big deal, annoying as hell, but I can deal since my room is clean at least. But he eats my food ALL the time and he has never asked, not once. I’m not talking about grabbing some cookies or something and then letting me know later. I’m talking about opening up a new bag of [junk], eating ALL of it, and putting it back in my cabinet and never mentioning it to me. Shit man, I don’t know you well enough for you to assume that shit like that flies with me. He’s been doing this since the month I moved in.

Now for the past few weeks I haven’t said anything, hoping a light bulb would go off in his head, but that never really happens does it? So today after he literally left me crumbs, I had a talk with him. I don’t mind talking shit to people, I do it all the time if they annoy me, but not to people I have work or live with, since I’m going to see them all the time and things get too weird. I tried to be assertive, don’t think it worked, but at least he knows what I was thinking now. He didn’t offer me $$ for the food, like the last roommate, which is good, he understands why I was upset, it isn’t about the damn money, it’s about having my food available when I want to eat it and not having to worry about it.

Dude, I’ve got a few other stories about his dickery (thanks to rydw i for exposing me to that word). But that will have to wait…probably when he pisses me off again or I get bored. On the bright side, at least I’m not a complete pu**y like Deeds with her old roommates.

To come…
The Morning Incident
[Something I can't really talk about since it's illegal and this blog "supposedly" goes to the world]
The First Time It Happened
What The…? I Was Watching That
The Bathroom Sink
Oh That HAS To Be Him…And It Is
…and tons of other little things that I’m probably going to exaggerate about to make me look like the “good guy”.

Update:
He came up to me an hour later and offered to buy me the food he ate…he doesn’t get it either. Damn. Why can’t these guys just buy food for themselves instead of expecting us to be their grocery liaisons? Shit, well, 8 months to go…maybe.

Update II:
Double shit, I just read over this again. I sound like a selfish p*ick. Well, no use censoring my own blog posts.

10,000 + 5 More Days

Category: MusicTB @ 7:59 pm

I am currently having auditory sex. Kinda tough to type, but I’m hoping the spell check takes care of that problem.

Got a hold of Tool’s next album, 10,000 Days today. Just started listening to it, on the second song right now and I am Maynard’s, body and soul.

I wonder if I could get Pearl Jam’s and Red Hot Chili Pepper’s new albums too, all three due to be released next week. Will have to check…

And After All, You’re My Wonderfall

Category: Movies & TV, Music, ReviewTB @ 12:23 pm

I have a favorite new show, Wonderfalls.

If you get a chance, give it a shot. It’s funny as hell, the writing is solid, and the acting is true to the characters (the parents, the siblings, the friends…perfect fit). It’s set in Niagara Falls and is about about a lazy girl, that’s writing gold right there!

It aired on FOX in 2004 and got cancelled after 13 episodes. Did we expect any less from FOX? Heck, the only reason I even knew it existed it was because Netflix recommended it to me. But I’m sure it would’ve gotten cancelled even if it was more known to the public, why? It’s FOX

…cancel the good shows (Greg The Bunny, Family Guy, Andy Richter Controls The Universe, Firefly)

…run the good shows into the ground (X-Files, Simpsons, Family Guy..soon enough)

…and keep the shit shows (just turn to FOX right now…).

Monkey Scientists

Category: Music, ReviewTB @ 9:33 pm

I try and listen to new music a lot, a lot of the bands I love have been acquired through this time killing hobby. What people may not realize is that you have to sift through a lot of mediocrity before you hit a shining gem. And of course, you also come across some true diamonds-in-the-rough and a lot of roughs-in-the-more-rough (a.k.a. schiesse).

Well tonight I’m posting about two bands, they produce good music, but for me at least, they don’t hit (or pass) the line where I would be inclined to purchase their albums. Alas, I am sorry oh two bands.

Arctic Monkeys - Whatever People Say I Am Thats What I’m Not
We Are Scientists - With Love And Squalor

They both sound a bit generic, with a couple good songs each at most, but music surrounded by the adequate does not make it my worth. I am going to toss them in the pile with many of my other “pretty good…but not that good” bands…Doves and Idlewild come to mind.

Tooled

Category: MusicTB @ 12:01 am

I just listened to the new song by Tool, “Vicarious”.

Me like.

Their new album, 10,000 Days, is due out May 2nd. Same day as Pearl Jam’s new self-titled release.

I am nursing my erection until that day.

Happy Easter

Category: GeneralTB @ 9:06 pm

A letter from Pope Gregory I to Saint Mellitus:

…the temples of the idols in that nation ought not to be destroyed; but let the idols that are in them be destroyed; let holy water be made and sprinkled in the said temples, let altars be erected, and relics placed. For if those temples are well built, it is requisite that they be converted from the worship of devils to the service of the true God; that the nation, seeing that their temples are not destroyed, may remove error from their hearts, and knowing and adoring the true God, may the more familiarly resort to the places to which they have been accustomed…

And Easter lived on into Christianity.

So Long MP3, And Thanks For All The Fish

Category: Books, Music, TechTB @ 1:03 pm

Well I’m converting, no more MP3s for TB. I’m going all AAC baby. Why you ask? Well…

AAC has better compression and better audio quality. Well so do other formats, for example, Ogg Vorbis, which I am HUGE fan of, but alas the hardware support is lacking.

AAC works in my iPod, my PC, and my cell phone. But not my Portable MP3CD Player or my Car MP3CD Player. But on the bright side, I haven’t used my Portable MP3CD in a couple years and my new car doesn’t have a MP3CD Player (…bright side?). While Ogg Vorbis only works on my PC (maybe on my MP3CD Player with a firmware upgrade, but I haven’t bothered to check).

Stupid companies and their proprietary support for their codecs. Ogg Vorbis is free and open source with no royalties to pay to anybody, but good luck trying to get Apple to support it in the next iPod. Also, I won’t be buying any music from the iTunes store anytime soon. Their AAC songs are DRM coded, much like every online downloadable music store (except AllOfMp3.com, those guys rule). Bastards telling me where I can and can not listen to music that I paid for and bought legally.

So I’ll be ripping all my CDs to AAC now and I don’t believe I’ll come across any major problems. Maybe a few PC players, but I think Windows Media Player is the only major one that doesn’t come with an AAC codec, but who the hell listens to music through WMP anyway? Winamp, Foobar, iTunes…
