Mr. Bartley
I’ve never been much of a burger or a steak kinda guy (most likely because I’ve got dietary restrictions on my meat consumption), so I have never been in awe of a “great burger joint”. But yesterday a friend and I headed to Bartley’s Burgers in Harvard Square after a quick game of squash*. I’ve been there before, but he hadn’t, so it seemed like a good spot to get some post-game food.
Now Bartley’s is considered one of the great burger places in the US, yes, in the United States, but all I get there are veggie burgers anyway and no matter how amazing of a cook you are, a veggie burger in the end is still a veggie burger. I’ve had a few good veggie burgers in my life and many many bad ones, but yesterday was as expected, a well above average tasting veggie burger. I don’t know if I’d rush down there for another one, but I would definitely rush down there for the cajun fries and nestle crunch vanilla frappe I had with the meal.
Honestly, that frappe totally pushed us over the edge, we were just groaning from eating so much while walking down the street. Quite sexy eh ladies?
*Apparently somebody forgot to notify the front desk about not allowing reservations in some of the squash courts because of repainting. We had to grab another court (luckily their scheduled players didn’t show), but got kicked out after an hour. Alas.
