Dual Fiit

Category: TechTB @ 11:58 am

So on May 19th the Wii Fit will be released in North America. The good news, a fun workout. The bad news, a fun workout. I’m still debating whether I should pick one up or not, so far I’m leaning toward not, just because… well… I really don’t want to work out while playing the Nintendo Wii. Hell with that.

So today I tried to set up a second 27″ widescreen monitor for myself at work, vertically rotated this time. Alas it was too tall and wouldn’t fit nicely on my desk, so we set it up for a coworker close by. He is now running two 27″ widescreen monitors vertically oriented and they look amazing. So much screen real estate, web pages seem to go on forever, it’s a bit weird at first actually, but then you are just in awe.

I did end up setting up a second monitor for myself in a vertical position, it’s only a 19″, but complements my current 27″ widescreen (horizontally positioned) nicely. It helps out more than you think when working, now there is less alt-tabbing and slightly more head-swiveling, which I can live with.

Victorious Regret Recap

Category: General, TechTB @ 11:48 am

So I’ve been pissing all over 2008 lately, but today I heard about Jeff Pulver (the VoIP visionary), resigning from his company. This is pretty big news in the VoIP arena, especially since Jeff is so likable. He didn’t mention why he left, but he did mention this:

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do.
So throw off the bowlines.
Sail away from the safe harbour.
Catch the trade winds in your sails.
Explore. Dream. Discover.
– Mark Twain

This is extremely ironic, just because those are honestly the exact words that come to mind whenever I’m faced with a decision. So 2008, you may be a bitch-demon, but I will still be victorious.

I, like most people I hope, have obviously done some things here and there that I regret doing, but I have absolutely done nothing so far that I regret not doing. I came close though in the last couple weeks, but strangely enough, failure is surprisingly satisfying.
