Classy Bio
So this morning was my first class at MIT, no, I’m not back in school, just taking one course. It’s a biology course, nothing major, BUT the big reason for actually taking it? It’s co-taught by Eric Lander. He’s an amazing professor, the work is going to suck, but listening to him talk is mesmerizing. You can tell he absolutely loves teaching biology, learning biology, furthering biology.
His main focus is on genetics, which is perfect, that’s my main focus too. This is exciting. If you don’t understand why, well, he’s pretty much a rock star in his field, so hope that puts it into perspective. I see him every now and then where I work, but never really spoken to him, maybe we’ll actually speak this year. Doubtful though. Why? 529 students!
Yes, there are 529 students in the class, most are undergrads and I gotta tell you, MIT lecture halls are crap! Seriously, they’re oooold, but at least they have good acoustics. And it’s a bit weird sitting in the middle of all these young-uns… the smartest young-uns in the entire world actually. Double crap.
