Non-Alcoholic
Yesterday I left work a bit early, hiked over to Whole Foods Market near Central Square and waited in line for a little more than an hour. What did I do a few minutes before waiting? I bought a couple bottles of wine from Caduceus Cellars of the Merkin Vineyard in Arizona.
Why would I do that? Because I got those bottles of wine signed by Maynard James Keenan! That’s correct, Maynard effin James effing Keenan, only one of the greatest vocalists to exist. My world would not be the same if not for Tool and A Perfect Circle.
Met him face-to-face, finally, up close, no more staring at the stage. Total eye contact and word exchanges. I wanted to say all this stuff to him about his music, his lyrics, and the way they’ve molded so much of me. In the end I said a couple words and tried not to look like a dork (which I’m sure I failed at brilliantly).
I just hope he didn’t recognize me as a non-drinker… probably would’ve bitten my head off. I wonder how long these wines are good for or when they’ll peak.
