3 2 1 Contact!

Integration, I’m almost there.  Contacts integration I mean.  I’m not a fan of Plaxo, never have been, but for some reason I’m OK with Google having my contacts information.  I guess it’s because for me Plaxo seems like they want to create a business around my contacts, while for Google my contacts are available to [...]

Canadian Crash

Got back from Canada this past Sunday.  Went there for eight days, vacationing and junk.  Spent a few days there, first in Montreal then in Quebec City.  It was pretty cold and a couple days were just pure snow, but I have to tell you, Quebec City is one of the most beautiful cities I [...]

Vided

Been really hooked on video games lately.  My current phase, the book phase is in the backseat.  How can I tell what phase I’m in?  What I spend my free time on weekends doing.  Doesn’t mean I’m not still reading, I still do, everyday actually, but an obsession it is not anymore.  Maybe my next [...]

I’m Living In Austin, TX

I finally installed Firefox 3.5 yesterday, it’s a bit snappier, overall a good upgrade.  I wanted to give one of its new features a try, Geolocation.  The browser can tell a website where it’s located, thus allowing that site to pinpoint where you actually are.  Great in theory for say Google Maps.
I tried it in [...]

RCNCast

It looks like this past week my apartment building’s Comcast lease expired or at least the part that required the building to only stick to Comcast.  Since last week to yesterday, I have received three flyers/letters from RCN with some great deals to switch over to subscribing to TV and Internet through them.  Finally, effing [...]

Re-Kindle

I think I may be done with my bookshelf tour, kind of.  So since my book-reading phase restarted around… Mid-Feb?  I’ve finished four books, which I’d say is pretty good for me.  I’ve got four more unread on my shelf that I didn’t previously count, but for a good reason, and they still don’t count [...]

Kindling

Got my Kindle 2 in today.  Now to get some reading going on.
I read some stats the other day that said that those trashy novel with Fabios on the cover sell like crazy in eBook format.  Makes sense, people get embarrassed reading that crap, but with an eBook reader, no problemo.  I then checked the [...]

Gmail, Mark As Undead

So I have my family domain name hosted by Google Apps, so all my email for my domain is now hosted by Gmail.  Great!  But Gmail’s website, although quite easy to use, had one very annoying feature… Mark As Unread.
That evil little piece of junk, when clicked, would mark the entire email thread/conversation as unread.  [...]

FLAC Me

I’m slowly replacing my entire digital music collection from MP3s (and the very few AACs) to FLAC.  First of all, it’s slow because I have re-rip all my CDs, and second, it takes up so much more space on my hard drive.  But it’s worth it!  Lossless, perfect CD quality sound.  No more worrying about [...]
