I Are Scientists

For the life of me, I just can’t stop listening to We Are Scientists lately, their new album Brain Thrust Mastery, but especially their 2006 album With Love And Squalor.  I’ve been a fan of their for a couple years, but since their amazing show a couple weeks ago I’ve been rejuvenated, almost to the point of stalking every song of theirs.

My gawd that was probably one of the best shows I’ve ever been to, definitely in my top 3.  Here’s Keith Murray at the merchandise table and being super cool (I think, hope?) about me taking a picture of him.

Lactose Diet

He digs into his bowl with a spoon encased in a small hill of natural peanut butter.  He takes his first bite… starting to chew slower with each motion, inadvertently making a face while trying to place the newly discovered taste in a dish known to him.  Lemons?  He wasn’t quite sure, the peanut butter clouding his taste buds’ judgment.  A second try, this time sans peanuts.  The spoon raises itself to his mouth holding a perfect balance of all the ingredients.  The second bite, now flattered with his undivided attention… it was decided then.  The milk had expired.

Non-stop

So I’m headed to a Radiohead conert tonight, finally.  Only seen them once before, it would’ve been three times already if the first two festivals with Radiohead didn’t get canceled on me, bad luck with them I think.

The first rain or shine outdoor show was axed because of rain.  Yeah, you read that right.  The second multiple day festival was axed because the city they were going to host it in (somewhere upstate New York I think) revoked the license the day before because they didn’t want concert goers in their city.  Douche bags.

Family comes in tomorrow too, so that should be fun.  Shame I’ll only be able to see them for a day, leaving for a wedding in Vermont on Friday and coming back Sunday night, by the time the family will be gone.

On the bright side, this non-stop train will finally make a stop Sunday night when I can actually relax for a bit.  Hopefully I’ll be smart enough (doubtful) to go to bed early for work the next day.  Wish me luck.

You! Eat!

You know what grinds my gears?

So a few of us go to lunch, we all get something to eat, but there is one lone person with just a cup of coffee. What the hell man? Why even come with us? I don’t give a shit if you had a big breakfast, get your arse some food or leave. I don’t want to feel weird when you’re not eating, I don’t want you staring at me while I eat my sandwich, I don’t want to hear your awkward conversations with people who have their mouths full of food.

Seriously. Eat!

EphiphaNIN

You know what I just realized on the way home from work? I bitch and moan a lot when it comes to concerts… and food… and waking up early.

But then again, I’m assuming you guys probably don’t want to hear how wonderful my life is, cause, well, happy people are annoying as balls on a frozen sidewalk.

I’m going to order Chinese food and maybe watch some NIN music videos, a slight fix if you will.

NIN? Not Today

My Nine Inch Nails concert for today has been postponed… SHIT! I needed this so bad. I’ve had a completely shitty time lately. I don’t drink, smoke, do drugs, or have a girlfriend thus my outlet is being music’s bitch, but alas that too goes through it’s moments of “leave me the hell alone”.

At least Reznor isn’t a complete douche about it:

Hey everyone -
Just want to personally say how sorry I am to have to do this. I never take postponing a show lightly and if there were any possible way I could pull this off I would. This is a very frustrating and maddening situation for me and I appreciate your understanding. I’ll make it up to you.
Thanks
– Trent Reznor

Cheese

I always wondered why our Sun and our Moon are proper nouns and other celestial bodies have better names. I mean Titan, now that’s a name, but it’s also a moon, not the Moon.

I’m going to start calling our Moon a new name from now on, Luna is a nice fit (Harry Potter fans rejoice I guess). As for the Sun, shrug, I was always partial to Ra or maybe Flamey McBall, I haven’t decided which one I prefer more.
