Anybody want to go to The Kills concert with me tonight? I’ve already got the ticket and obviously it’ll be on me. It’s 8pm at The Paradise. We can grab sushi from Kayuga or some amazing Korean food from Super 88.
The Kills aren’t a hard band at all, “lo-fi” if you will. I think quite enjoyable to most, even if you’ve never listened to them before. Their sound is a bit unique, slightly acquired at first, but trust me, they will envelop you right away.
Anybody? Maybe even some ice-cream afterward…

So I turned my cell phone on this morning like normal after I woke up. Lo and behold, amazing news! My younger sister got in Boston University’s high school summer program so she’ll be up here for a couple months this summer. YE-freaking-S! This program is a toughie to get into apparently so the plan was for her to get into her backup choices and move to Boston for the summer regardless. I think she mentioned Northeastern and Emerson as backups, I don’t really recall. But she’s wicked smart, so go her.
I also signed up for the 2008 Let’s Run Series. Five races, all 4.2 miles, all throughout the summer. Doing this with a buddy, just because. They’re all in the evening, so hopefully it won’t be too warm to run, and hopefully I won’t be too tired after work and will actually improve in my race time. But then again, I don’t really know my “best” time for a 4.2 miler, the only timed races I’ve run are the 5k ones.
Also, I’ve got a Kills concert on the 30th that I want to go to. I’ve got an extra ticket, but nobody wants to come with, what the hell? It’s at The Paradise, which is a pretty good venue, plus there’s good food around that area. So don’t be a dork and come with, they’re a good band people!

I picked up some amazing tickets for the Pearl Jam show in Boston, nay, two Pearl Jam shows. One is unconfirmed, but I paid for the ticket reservations in advance just in case it does get confirmed. I’m talking up front by the way, as in the first twenty or so rows in front of the stage.
These two shows are going to be the last two of their current tour it looks like and you KNOW what that means! Long shows with all the energy they put on in their tour ending Seattle shows. I need this so bad, I haven’t seen them perform in a few years and it was hands down the best concert I’ve ever been to.
Ironically enough I watched Eels perform a week ago in an extremely intimate venue, I was in the second row and could make out the hairs on Everett’s beard and the chords on his guitar. He put on probably one of the most personal performances I have ever seen. You knew he was enjoying himself and wasn’t just “doing his job”, you could see him get lost playing the piano, truly smiling when telling the audience an anecdote, and enjoying just being there playing for us.
